Senior Product Designer - Melbourne

Salary negotiable

This Engineering Consultancy designs and commercialises cutting edge products in-house, and for large and small companies all over the world. As a Senior Product Designer, you will have the opportunity to shape and deliver products that have a true impact on people's lives. You will lead end-to-end design projects spanning a variety of industries and involving design experiences across both physical and digital touch points. You will be immersed in a fantastic and dynamic work culture where honest and open feedback is encouraged and there are real opportunities for progression.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading design projects from consultation through to completion and final spec

  • Designing and facilitating client workshops and brainstorming sessions

  • Planning, estimating and scoping new programs of work and packaging proposals

  • Driving early stage development of new projects and client relationships

  • Managing client expectations, budgets, time lines and project resourcing

  • Working within project teams to conceptualise, prototype and test potential designs

  • Advocating for the user experience and championing human-centred design methodologies

  • Driving ISO compliance and best practices

  • Driving continuous improvement of product design processes and methodologies

  • Mentoring younger design team members

To be successful you will need:

  • 8 - 10 years experience in a similar role within a related design discipline (product design, industrial design, user experience design)

  • Experience of both hardware and software product design principles and processes (i.e.) human factors, DFM, CMF, design systems, UI patterns

  • Familiarity with ISO9001:2008, 62366, 13485 and FDA QSR regulations

  • Advanced skills in technical standard software and applications such as Solidworks, Keyshot, Figma and Adobe Suite

  • Bachelor's Degree in a design related field
