Role: Mobile Handyman/caretaker
Based: There are currently 2 positions in North East/East London/Essex covering CM, RM & IG postcodes between the 2 roles.
Length of contract: 6-12 months fixed term contract - this will be reviewed towards the end of the contract with the aim to have these be extended into a permanent position, nothing is set in stone yet as these are new posts that are being reviewed, they are currently signed off for 6-12 months.
Rate per hour: £14.74 Umbrella or £12.95 PAYE - rate includes holiday pay
This will be weekly pay.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm - paid 35 hours
**FULL UK DRIVING LICENCE REQUIRED (WITH 6 POINTS OR LESS)**
*DBS - You will need a clear basic DBS for this role dated within 1 year, if you do not have one we can look to put one through for you, we can discuss further after application.
to work within sheltered/extra care accommodation, you will be expected to drive a company vehicle, tools/fuel card will be provided.
Your role will will be to provide ad hoc communal repairs such as replace door handles, painting and decorating, putting up fences, and most other aspects of basic DIY in supported living accommodation as well as ad-hoc cleaning duties.
*Replacing communal lightbulbs
*Gritting around the fire exit/paths in icy weather
*Replacing/ fixing of toilet seats within properties and communal areas
*Small repairs such as loose screws, hinges, locks, handles etc. within properties and communal areas
*Maintenance of door guards/closures
*Bi-annual cleaning of wetroom drains in Sheltered/ Extra Care accommodation.
*Bi-annual cleaning of air vents/ filters where maintenance is required
*Ad-hoc handyperson jobs in communal areas
*Annual 'bleeding' of radiators in properties and communal areas
*Maintenance of communal and garden furniture
*Ad-hoc cleaning, gardening, litter picking or decorating tasks requested by the housing team
*Removal of graffiti
*Reporting any health, safety or security concerns
